Cleaning Instructions

WASH your hands thoroughlyprior to touching your piercing for any reason

SALINE soak for five to ten minutes once or more a day
-
Avoid using harsh soaps with dyes, fragrances, or triclosan

RINSE thoroughly to remove all traces of soap from the piercing. it is not necessary to rotate the jewelry.

DRY by gently patting with clean, disposable paper products.
Cleaning Solutions

Use one or both of the following solutions for the healing piercings:

Packaged sterile saline ( with no additives, read the label)

A sea salt solution- dissolve 1/8 to 1/4 tsp of non-iodized sea salt into one cup of warm distilled or bottled water

What is Normal?

Initially some bleeding, localized swelling, tenderness, or bruising

Some discoloration, itching, secretion of whitish-yellow (not pus) that will form some crust on the jewelry. The tissue may tighten around the jewelry as it heals.

Once healed the jewelry may not move freely in the piercing; do not force it.

A piercing may seem healed before the process is complete. Tissue heals from the outside in, the interior may still remain fragile. be patient and keep cleaning your piercing.

Even healed piercings can shrink or close in minutes, keep your jewelry in and do not leave the hole empty.

be sure to check your piercing ball to ensure it is tight, they can become loose and can fall out.
